I have been using Twitter for a couple of days now and have found there is one thing I just don’t like. If you twitter and want to leave a URL, the URL is not clickable! The only way to click the link is to click on http://twitter.com at the bottom of the twitter box and look at all the bloggers twitters. You can’t even highlight the URL from the twitter box to copy it to a browser. That feature definitely needs to be improved!
Fuel My Blog is a great way to get your blog noticed. I have four other blogs that I write four and I have submitted these to Fuel My Blog. Some of them have even made the top 10. I do get visitors from the site as well.
It is easy to add a widget to your blog that allows your visitors to vote for your blog. I have added the widget to my sidebar and you can vote for me there.
Fuel My Blog also runs contests and awards prizes. The competition can involve writing a post, taking a picture or getting lots of votes. There is also a forum that includes such topics as “How Do I Start Blogging?” and “Hot Blog Posts.” You will be able to get some great advice from seasoned bloggers in the forum.
Well, the camera is used, but it is in great shape! NeilDuckett.com is offering you a chance to win a Canon IXY Digital 1000. It is a 10 megapixel camera with 3x zoon and Neil bought it just one year ago. He is giving it away because he just bought the newer version of the camera. The contest runs until December 10, 2007. To gain one entry into the drawing visit Neil’s blog and subscribe to his RSS feed by email. You can gain additional entries as well, just visit the blog and check out the details.
It seems that every day a new toy is introduced on the web. I just discovered Twitter, a new service for family and friends to stay connected. It is easy to get started. First you choose a username. Make sure you choose a name that you want others to see. If you don’t want your first and last name showing all over the web then choose a different username. (Hint: You can always change the username latter, as I did, under Settings). You will also be asked to provide a password and email address.
After creating your account, you will be asked one question “What are you doing now?” Simply type in your response and you are on your way. You can add new responses to the question throughout the day. Let people know what you are doing, what you are reading or what you are reading!
You can also invite your friends and family to join Twitter or search for people that might already be on twitter.
Twitter also has a widget to install on your blog. I installed one on my sidebar so you can see how it works. I choose just to show my twitters, but you can also show friends twitters as well.
My favorite pick this week is Geeky Speaky. Geeky Speaky is the brainchild of Colleen. She owns a few other blogs as well, but this one focuses on all things geeky. She covers electronics, blogs, websites, plugins, software and much more. She also has a forum attached to her blog. The forum has a section devoted to paid blogging, so if you are interested in that aspect be sure to participate in the forum and you will learn loads!
Another feature of her blog is the Directory. You can submit your link for free with a reciprocal link on your site. Add Geeky Speaky to your feed reader, you won’t be disappointed.
