The StumbleUpon Graveyard

I have been working my way through Caroline Middlebrook’s StumbleUpon course (unfortunately her course is no longer available) and have found it very useful. However, before I knew too much about StumbleUpon, I made a very grave mistake and now one of my blogs is in the StumbleUpon Graveyard.

If you have downloaded the StumbleUpon toolbar, you will find a very convenient thumbs up (or thumbs down) button. Click on this button and another window opens up for you to submit the website if it is not already submitted. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT click on CANCEL! This will send the post to the StumbleUpon graveyard and it will receive zero traffic, even if another stumbler finds the post and gives it a thumbs up!

How to you avoid getting into a page in the StumbleUpon graveyard? First, if you hit the thumbs up, always follow through and write the review. Second, make sure you are using the latest toolbar. Third, you might want to consider asking others to Stumble by putting a StumbleUpon symbol on the post. If they don’t know what they are doing, the page could end up in the graveyard.

StumbleUpon can give your blog or website lots of traffic, just be careful when using this great tool!

Poll Results – What would you change about Entrecard?

The results are in with the poll about Entrecard. The question asked was “What would you change about Entrecard?”

Mandy left the following comment: “I would like to see a way to search for other Entrecards. The bigger Entrecard gets, I keep loosing my place trying to find my favorites. Hey, there’s a thought a “Favorites” where you can add you favorite Entrecards? ”

There is a favorites function in Entrecard. Click on a blog under “Campaign” and then click on “Add to Favorites” on the right hand side. This works like a charm, however, I still would like to see a search since sometimes I remember the name of a blog, but just can’t seem to find it.

Blog Meme – Top 10 Entrecard Droppers

A blog meme is often a series of questions that bloggers answer that involves sharing a personal experience or other experience. A blog meme can help build traffic to your site, especially if you are the creator of the meme.

This meme was developed by Yimto Affiliate Marketing Blog. Simply put, if you are using Entrecard, list your top 10 Entrecard Droppers and give there website a short review. Here are the official rules:

So, here are the simple rules of this Meme:

1. Post your Top 10 Dropper’s Blogs, and write a little comment about them, which you could use as a recommendation should you choose

2. Message them with the Entrecard message system to let them know that they have been tagged, and encourage them to continue the chain. (and thank them for dropping so many cards)

3. Include a link to the Entrecard Meme article of the person who tagged you

4. Include a link to the original post

Entrecard

I have just installed the Entrecard widget into my sidebar. Entrecard is a very cool program that allows you to make a “business” card that you can drop onto other blogs that are also running the Entrecard widget.

If you want to advertise on a specific blog, you can for free.  How do you “pay” for this free advertising?  It is done by Entrecard credits.  You earn Entrecard credits every time you visit a blog and drop your card.  All you do is click on the “Drop Yours” at the bottom of the Entrecard widget on a blog.  This does not make the card visible, it just tells the blog owner that you visited their blog.

If you want to make the card visible, you can advertise with all the credits you earned by visiting blogs in the first place.  You earn 1 credit each time you drop your card and 1 credit each time you drop your card on other’s blogs.  You also earn credits each time you advertise.

Entrecard is a cool way to get your blog noticed for free.  Try it.  I think you will like it.
